A
Happy Customer
From the jag forum
Hi
all,
I have been toying with the idea of getting my S-type R
converted to Lpg for a while and after some research and
speaking to Steve Fricker at www.gaspoweruk.co.uk
in Exeter I decided to take the plunge and go for it.
The car has been fitted with the latest Brc 56 system
and took about a week to fit. I picked up the car on a
Saturday morning and was very impressed with the quality
of the installation having a 70 litre doughnut tank in
the spare wheel well and the lpg filler point fitted on
the side of rear bumper which I think looks more
discreet than being cut into to the body work. In the
engine bay it all loosk very neat and tidy with no
trailing wires or pipes.
On the performance side I was told that there might be a
drop but I honestly cant tell the difference as for
economy I have averaged about 20 mpg which equates to
aprox 40mpg at today’s prices and have been told his
will improve after about 5 fill ups (Something to do
with air in the tank). The only problem I have had was a
check engine light appear with reduced performance mode
cutting in which meant a trip back to Exeter but this
was promptly sorted out and has not appeared again.
I am very pleased with the results the car is just as
much fun to drive but obviously the better economy
making it more affordable to run. I would like to thank
Gaspower for the advice and excellent job they have
done.
